Poderi Moretti

Green Practice

Poderi Moretti is committed to environmentally friendly viticulture, employing ecologically sustainable techniques in their vineyards. They prioritize the use of natural products in both the vineyard and cellar to respect the local ecosystem. Their philosophy combines traditional winemaking methods, passed down through generations, with innovative techniques designed to enhance wine quality while preserving the authentic character of their terroir. For example, they use inert gas during wine transfers to protect the natural aromas of the wines.

The winery's commitment to sustainability is demonstrated through its focus on traditional, low-intervention agricultural practices and its use of natural products, which inherently reduces chemical inputs and promotes a healthier vineyard environment.

Visitor Engagement & Experience

The visitor experience at Poderi Moretti is designed to be a deep dive into the history and traditions of the Roero wine region. It is a family-run affair, with guests often personally guided by Francesco, Alessandra, or Riccardo Moretti. The tour typically includes a walk through the historic vineyards, a visit to the winemaking and aging cellars, and a guided tasting of five or more estate wines, such as Roero Arneis, Barbera d'Alba, and Barolo. The wines are thoughtfully paired with a platter of local artisanal products, offering a complete gastronomic experience that highlights the connection between the wine and its territory.
