Podere Ruggeri Corsini

Green Practice

The winery employs a comprehensive sustainability strategy. They reduce their carbon footprint by using lightweight glass bottles, saving approximately 110 quintals of glass annually. Since 2003, all cellar wastewater is purified through a natural phyto-purification system, with the recycled water available for irrigation. They have installed solar thermal and photovoltaic panels, which generate up to 70% of the winery's electricity and reduce gas consumption by 80%. In the vineyard, they practice certified sustainable agriculture, using low-impact products like copper and sulfur and avoiding chemical fertilizers to stimulate the vines' natural defenses.

Key metrics include an annual reduction of ~110 quintals of glass; an 80% reduction in gas usage for heating; and self-production of 60-70% of the electricity used in the winery. All wastewater is treated via a phyto-purification system.

Visitor Engagement & Experience

Visitors are welcomed to a family-run experience, often hosted by the owners, Loredana and Nicola. Tastings are available by reservation and offer a chance to explore a range of wines, from the great Langhe classics like Barolo to international varieties. The experience includes an introduction to the winery's philosophy and production process, sometimes accompanied by a video presentation. Tastings are paired with local foods like "Pan da Vin", providing an authentic taste of the Langhe region. The winery is part of the "Strada del Barolo" (Barolo Road), highlighting its significance in the local wine tourism landscape.
